Why Choose Us

Built for a Sustainable Uganda

Our waste-to-energy approach delivers environmental, economic, and community benefits that go far beyond traditional waste disposal.

Sustainable Energy

We turn waste into clean energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and decreasing reliance on fossil fuels.

Environmental Stewardship

Our processes minimize landfill waste and help combat pollution through advanced flue gas treatment meeting EU emission norms.

Community Impact

We support local communities through job creation and sustainable development, building a stronger Uganda for future generations.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Our facility utilizes advanced technology to maximize efficiency and minimize environmental impact, operating to international best-practice standards.

The Project

A World-Class Waste-to-Energy Facility

The plant will be designed to incinerate 1,300 tonnes of waste per day on average, resulting in 475,000 tonnes per year. Accounting for stops for periodic maintenance, the annual availability of the plant will be 7,800 hours (89%), which will generate 29.5 MW net and a sale of electricity of 230 GWh.

This electricity will be integrated into the national grid, alleviating the strain on landfills and boosting Uganda's power supply.

The combustion gases from the plant will be cooled by boiling water to steam and the cooler gases will be treated in a flue gas cleaning stage to ensure good and stable operation with low impact on the environment. The flue gas filtration is designed to perform in accordance with EU standard emission norms, which are based on best available practice.

The combination of high temperature combustion in a controlled environment with a good flue gas cleaning system has the ability to either destroy or capture the toxic elements of the fuel. The captured material is much more compact and easier to handle than the much larger and slowly decomposing waste that was the initial fuel.

The total environmental impact of the waste is significantly reduced — through controlled destruction, components such as methane and biphenyls are almost 100% destroyed instead of seeping out from a landfill, while heavy metals and chemicals such as dioxins, furans and phthalates are either fully destroyed or captured in the flue gas treatment system.

How It Works

From Waste to Watts

Our advanced four-stage process converts municipal solid waste into clean electricity with minimal environmental impact.

Step 01

Waste Intake

Municipal solid waste arrives and is processed, ready for high-temperature incineration at scale.

Step 02

Combustion

Waste is incinerated at high temperatures in a controlled environment, generating intense thermal energy.

Step 03

Steam Generation

Combustion gases cool by boiling water into high-pressure steam, which drives turbines to produce electricity.

Step 04

Grid Integration

Clean electricity — 29.5 MW net — flows directly into Uganda's national grid, powering homes and industry.

Environmental Impact

Near-Zero Landfill.
Near-Zero Emissions.

Unlike traditional landfills, our controlled incineration captures and destroys the vast majority of harmful substances — from methane and biphenyls to heavy metals and dioxins.

Our EU-standard flue gas filtration system ensures stable, low-impact operation that protects communities, ecosystems, and Uganda's air quality.
